Duxtop 8100MC Induction Cooktop Review

Duxtop 8100MC induction cooktop

Dustup 8100MC

The success of an induction cooker relies on its ability to transfer energy efficiently. The Duxtop 8100MC induction cooktop uses 90% of the total energy produced, giving users better results when cooking a lot of different types of foods. The cooktop produces the energy to cook foods from a magnetic field and also detects the size of the cookware base and adjusts automatically to minimize energy loss.

Most users of induction cooktops get them either as a replacement for damaged burners or to extend their cooking capabilities for special events. Like other types of cooktops, the Duxtop is versatile enough to use outdoors or away from home when a cooking surface is needed. Buyers of the 8100MC appreciate its ability to work efficiently without wasting energy.

Features of the Duxtop 8100MC

Lightweight

One of the most important features of a cooktop is being lightweight enough to make it highly portable. The Duxtop is light enough to make it easy to transport and store until it is needed again. If you need a way to keep your dish warm at a family reunion or other outdoor event, the cooktop is simpler than using a crockpot. You can either cook on location or turn down the temperature to keep dishes warm.

Built-In Digital Timer

The built-in digital timer counts down the time in five-minute increments and allows you to set it for up to 170 minutes total. I like this feature because it ensures that I don’t forget what’s cooking on the cooktop while I tend to other dishes on my regular stove. It also frees up my regular kitchen timer to use for other things.

Adjustable Temperature

Another feature that you will find more convenient than your regular stove is the adjustable temperature selection. The Duxtop 8100MC induction cooktop has 10 temperature settings that range from 140°F to 460°F and 10 power levels that range from 200-1800 watts. It’s easy to choose the perfect temperature for all types of food without worrying about fluctuations that can occur with a regular cooking stove with settings of low, medium, and high.

Compatibility

The versatility of the 8100MC allows you to use it with a broad range of cookware, including cast iron, aluminum enameled iron and steel, and stainless steel. A good way to increase the versatility of what can be cooked on the cooktop is to purchase cookware made of magnetic materials for all of your cooking needs.

Auto-Pan Detection

Once you are finished cooking and take your food off the burner, you don’t have to worry about forgetting to turn it off. It has an auto-pan detection system that senses when there is nothing detected on the cooktop for 60 seconds and automatically turns it off.

Pros

The Duxtop cooktop is easy to use and highly portable. It is versatile enough to use as your “go-to” burner when you have a larger menu to prepare or when a burner goes out on your stove.

Induction cooking is a lot faster than gas, so food prepared on the cooktop will be done sooner than those cooked on a gas range. If you are just heating something up or boiling water for a drink, it will be ready in minutes. The unit is easy to use and easy to cleanup.

Another benefit of the cooktop is that induction cooking doesn’t create heat in the kitchen like other stoves. This makes the Duxtop more comfortable to use in the summer months.

Cons

Some users of the Duxtop don’t like the issue of having to use magnetic cookware due to the difficulty in determining in the store exactly what will work and what won’t.

A simple solution to this problem is to take a magnet with you when you go shopping and make sure it sticks. Anything that sticks to the magnet can be used on the Duxtop. Also some cookware will indicate if it is induction compatible on the box. The other option is to use an induction disc, then you can use any type of cookware.
